My favourite Friday evening activity? Playing restaurant at home and creating magic in the kitchen ✨ The outcome this time: juicy Spicy Ginger Turkey Burgers with a kick of fresh ginger, creamy sriracha mayo, and crispy Caribbean-style sweet potato wedges.
What I love about this recipe:
It sneaks in extra veggies like carrot 🥕 (perfect for little ones).
It’s gluten-free and super easy to adapt.
You can use your Thermomix for quick prep, or just a chopping board.
Homemade burgers always taste better — and trust me, this one is a family favorite!
🍔 Spicy Ginger Sesame Turkey Burgers
(Thermomix + Non-Thermomix version included!)
Ingredients (serves 4–6)
370 g turkey mince (or 740 g = 2 packs for more)
1 carrot, peeled & roughly chopped
1 small shallot
2 spring onions
2–3 cm fresh ginger, peeled
1 garlic clove
1 egg
30 g gluten-free breadcrumbs
1–2 tsp sriracha (to taste)
1 tsp sesame oil (for frying)
Salt & pepper
Thermomix Method:
Add carrot, shallot, spring onion, ginger, garlic → chop 5 sec / speed 5. Scrape down.
Add sesame oil → sauté 3 min / 120°C / speed 1.
Add turkey mince, egg, breadcrumbs, sriracha, salt & pepper → mix 15 sec / reverse / speed 3.
Shape into patties. Fry in a pan with sesame oil until golden & cooked through.
Non-Thermomix Method:
Finely chop carrot, shallot, spring onion, ginger, and garlic.
Sauté in sesame oil until softened.
In a bowl, mix with turkey, egg, breadcrumbs, sriracha, salt & pepper.
Shape into patties & fry until golden & cooked through.
🌿 To Serve:
Gluten-free burger buns (I used SuperValu’s — so good!)
Homemade Sriracha Mayo (mix mayo + sriracha)
White sweet potato wedges roasted in sesame oil & Caribbean spice mix
This recipe has quickly become a staple in our home. It’s toddler-friendly, packed with flavor, and perfect for sharing — whether you make full-sized burgers or mini muffin-size patties for little hands.
